Alice Under Glass

A tantalizing comic odyssey with live art. Alice under Glass combines improvised scenes and music with the visual wizardry of Venezuelan artist Gigi Mederos, who creates cartoon counterpoint from audience doodles. Alice under Glass is one woman's voyage through our contemporary Wonderland.

Improv: The Darker Side

A serio-comic tribute to the dark places inside. You supply the protagonists and we take them on a twisting journey through the labyrinth of life. Along the way we relax and enjoy such entertainments as Anxiety Jeopardy and the Festival of Fears.

Love/Hate Relationships

An exploration of the intricacies of falling in love. Follow the lives of two couples from their romantic days of heavenly bliss through the chaotic days when all hell breaks loose. You, the audience, then answer the timeless question, "should we get married or should we break up?" Along the way count on plenty of absurd advice from our cadre of relationship experts, and a musical tribute to love based on an actual audience member's experience.

TheatreZone Improv is just that, improvised. All of our shows can be tailored to fit your group and your special event!

In each performance the story is created fresh, based on audience suggestions. You provide the characters, we bring them to life.

Can we participate?

Of course! Performances of Alice under Glass include talk show guests: a new group every evening. This is a great chance for you, your friends, your family, your boss, you name it, to be a part of the show.

Workshops

Take a vacation to the exciting and uncharted territories of your own imagination. TheatreZone improv workshops, from the introductory to the intensive, offer you the chance to liberate your creativity as you develop solid acting technique. Through a progressive series of games, exercises, and scenes that demystify the process of improvising, you will gain confidence, a new appreciation for your individual sense of humor, and a heightened ability to think and respond on your feet.

Introductory Workshops

can last from a couple hours to a couple days. Content is tailored according to the interests and level of experience of your group.

Classes

meet on an on-going basis, and can focus on improvisation, scene work, presentation skills, or the business of acting and auditioning skills.

Residencies

are an opportunity for your students to explore the basics of acting and improv through an intensive process of study and creation. As classes progress, we will work with students to prepare their own original improv play for a showcase performance for their peers.

Workshop Leaders

TheatreZone's workshop leaders have extensive experience including teaching acting at Florida Atlantic University, the Panaro Workshop in Miami, and the Actors Workshop. In addition to teaching beginning and advanced actors of all ages, they have brought acting techniques to non- traditional settings including working with teens in Alternative Education Programs and training Literacy and English as a Second Language teachers.
