The EIGHT: Reindeer Monologues

"Jeff Goode's wickedly topical contribution to Yuletide culture" Ben Brantley, The New York Times, takes us into the hearts and minds of eight angry reindeer as they give their take on the scandal that is rocking the North Pole. As each of the publicity-drunk four-leggeds tells what they know or don't know about what happened to Vixen, Santa is alternatively proclaimed a savior or denounced as a "holly jolly sex crime waiting to happen." The Eight Reindeer Monologues is making its Boston debut after successful runs in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

Directed by Fran Weinberg. Fran has directed a wide range of productions throughout New England, including premiere productions of new works for Speakeasy Stage Company, the New Theatre, and a critically acclaimed production of Dancing Downstream for Centastage. She received her Masters Degree from Emerson College, and in addition to coaching actors from her studio in Needham she has taught on the faculties of Emerson College and the Actors Workshop in Boston. She will be directing in Threshold Theatre's upcoming festival of new plays Speaking Bravely, at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Jeff Goode is a director, actor, and author of over 40 plays, musicals, and children's plays including Portrait of the Virgin Mary Feeding the Dinosaurs, Lesbian's Last Pizza, The Ring Cycle - The Musical!, Larry and the Werewolf, and The UBU Plays - a "revolutionary" children's trilogy. Jeff is a co-founder of the original No Shame Theatre [Iowa City], and a founding company member of The Unusual Cabaret [Bar Harbor, Maine], Pantechnicon Artworks [Chicago], and Les Enfants du Maïs [Des Moines / Chicago]. A cornfed Iowa youth, Jeff recently moved to California to become a decadent screenwriter. Look for the new Saturday morning cartoon show Smash!World next fall.
